Washington Sales Associate License Requirements
        
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Sixty hour course in Washington real estate fundamentals. Course must be completed within five years prior to application for examination.
  • Successful passage of examination.
  • Application for license.

    A required sixty (60) clock hour Washington Real Estate Fundamentals course must be completed before the candidate contacts Pearson Vue to make an examination reservation. The “Candidate Examination Document” found in the Candidate Examination handbook must be signed and stamped by the course instructor. This document is the only proof of education that will be accepted at the Promissor Test Center. The candidate must take the examination within five (5) years of completing the Real Estate Fundamentals Course.

    Washington Continuing Education Requirements
    • An actively licensed salesperson is required to complete 30 hours of approved real estate education to renew the license.
    • If you are a salesperson actively renewing for the first time, you must also complete a 30-hour course in real estate practices, for a total of 60 hours. An actively licensed broker is required to complete 30 hours of approved real estate education to renew the license.
    • Licensees renewing on or after June 1, 2004 must include 3 hours of prescribed core curriculum in the 30 hours required for the renewal of an active license.
